M. Cabell Clay, Member at Moore & Van Allen, PLLC, is the recipient of the Women Lawyers of Charlotte (“WLC”) 2018 Woman of the Year Award. Annually, the WLC bestows this honor in recognition of a woman who exemplifies the WLC mission to foster professional and social relationships among the diverse group of women lawyers in our community, while promoting equality, advancement and opportunity for women through events, programs, mentorship, education and community outreach.

Cabell currently serves as President of the Board of Directors for the Council for Children’s Rights. She was recently named to the 2017 North Carolina Pro Bono Honor Society, is an active member of the Junior League of Charlotte, has served on the Mecklenburg County Bar Board of Directors and remains an active participant of several bar organizations, is a member of the board of Chameleon’s Journey, and recently received the W. Taylor Reveley award for outstanding commitment to public service from the William & Mary Law School. Cabell’s accomplishments and accolades far exceed the brief summary herein. However, her dedication to service and promotion of equality, advancement and opportunity is unwavering and commendable. WLC is proud to call her a member.
