Farah Lisa was born and raised in Greenville, NC, attended Duke University her freshman and sophomore years, and graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Political Science.  Immediately after graduating, she moved to New York City, working at Cosmopolitan Magazine for several years.  She returned to North Carolina to attend UNC Chapel Hill School of Law, including a semester and a summer at La Sorbonne, University of Paris School of Law.

After law school, Farah Lisa practiced commercial litigation in Raleigh at Alston & Bird, and in New York at DLA Piper.  She represented companies, and in particular banks, accounting firms, and other financial service entities, in issues involving federal and state regulations and contractual compliance. This included representation in SEC and PCAOB investigations, as well as internal investigations. She has analyzed the risks of securities and derivative lawsuits in conjunction with debt offerings, and managed all phases of large, complex commercial lawsuits.  Farah Lisa was named by Super Lawyers to their Rising Stars—2015 New York Metro and 2017 North Carolina.

In 2019 she started her own solo practice, where she does a variety of work. She has enjoyed working with a North Carolina based developer on the investigation and development of low-income housing tax credit projects, as well as on developing strategies for successful partnerships with advocacy and non-profit groups.  Also licensed in New York, she handles issues implicating that jurisdiction as well.  In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, especially her husband Thomas and recently turned nine-year-old son Elias, reading, and playing the violin.
