Out of the 30 North Carolina attorneys named to the North Carolina Lawyers Weekly’s annual “Leaders in the Law” list, THREE members of the Women Lawyers of Charlotte have been named!  The list honors North Carolina’s most influential legal professionals who have gone above and beyond in their profession and their community.

In addition to practicing family law, Penelope Hefner has donated a lot of her time serving the legal profession and her local communities.  She is a member of the Family Law Section of the North Carolina State and Mecklenburg County Bar Associations, Past President of the Union County Bar Association, and has served as a Volunteer Attorney with the Legal Representation Project of Safe Alliance, representing active duty members of the military who are entitled to court-appointed counsel under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (“SCRA”), and helping answer legal questions of the general public during Legal Aid’s “Lawyer on the Line” Program.  Penelope is a member of the Monroe Rotary Club, Board Member of the Union County Community Shelter, ChariTEA Committee Chairperson for the Charlotte Rescue Mission, and a Former Board Member and Fundraising Chair for the Union Symphony Society.

Congratulations Penny!
